Charlotte Harbor Paddlers
A competitive paddling club
The goals of the Charlotte Harbor Paddlers are to provide expert coaching and instruction for small boat paddling, provide a training area on local waters and to organize competitive race events in the Greater Charlotte Harbor area and beyond.
One of the purposes of the Club is to promote the sport and culture of dragon boating. Some of the events we participate in are sponsored by the Eastern Regional Dragon Boat Association or like organizations and held as charitable and educational events under Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code of the United States.
The dragon boat portion of the Charlotte Harbor Paddlers is called the 'Draggin' Dragons'. This competitive team of men and women:
- Practices and participates in national and international amateur competitions;
- Encourages and participates in the development of amateur athletes for amateur dragon boat competition.
The team competes in Dragon Boat Festivals in Cape Coral, Tavares, Marathon, Miami, Orlando and Tampa, Florida during the spring and fall race season.
Charlotte Harbor Paddlers also participate in other human powered water craft activities such as kayaking and paddling outrigger canoes.
